David Ching, Founder

David Ching is an entrepreneur with a reputation for integrity and innovation. An Engineer by education, he has brought a systems perspective to the development of software products for different markets. He has founded or co-founded companies in the software industry. His first products provided real-time process control and plant management software to the manufacturing and public utilities markets. With his engineering and systems background, he took those concepts to managing middleware technology in IT environments, looking at middleware as a system rather than a technology silo. His products have been recognized as the best-of-breed by many analysts in the software industry and are used by many of the Fortune 500 companies in financial, insurance, federal government, telecom and manufacturing markets.

In 1985, he founded Facility Management Technology. In 1997, he co-founded MQSoftware that was subsequently acquired by BMC Software in 2009. He was a pioneer in the Business Transaction Monitoring market (now known as the Application Performance Market) having introduced one of the first products in this space. The APM market has grown to be a multi-billion dollar market.

He founded iBIT to leverage his vast experience and innovative mind to assist companies in transforming themselves from silos of technology to an application focus through better planning and better operations. In his career, he recognized that the key to successful monitoring started with the planning process and a fundamental understanding of the business and the information it needs for decision making and analysis purposes. Today's modern SOA architectural style with the usage of on-premises as well as Cloud services will drive the need for more and better monitoring, making sure that IT investments add business value and IT is an integrated part of the business providing a competitive advantage.

David has a BS, MCE and PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
